The area here where these flowers are growing is part of the ‘Fanie Botha Hiking Trail which I did many, many, many moons ago, with Leon and Rene, when you were a tiny little chap, and you and Dad awaiting us at a Swadini Chalet to join up with you at the completion of our hike.
I remember the Swadini chalet well, and have a photo of it somewhere, with Dad sitting in a deck chair in front of the chalet and you, still a toddler, standing nearby Dad and I well remember how delighted you were with the vervet monkeys , how you used to enjoy running up to the tables on which they cheekily perched and how you frisked about them, waving your little hands. You amused yourself for hours on end with them.
