Proposed Silkwornfarm/factory visit.

Dear Stu,

Just excuse the irambling comments accompanying the various photos I am sending through to you,  just some idle chatter which you might enjoy…

The rain has let up a bit.  We will be going to the Silkworm Farm/Factory tomorrow, about 15 to 20 kilometers from here.   Did I tell you that this caravan park is situated right on top of a gorge, and the road Pass that leads down from it is named Konwyn’s Pass.  We are right at the top of the Pass.  It takes you down and as I’ve mentioned, about 15 kilometers down is the silkworm farm which should be a very interesting experience to view.  My knowledge about how they go about  the breeding and harvesting of the silk is a bit sketchy, but the tour one is given apparently is very interesting and you are shown the stages of the farming process.

I suspect and hope that they gently unwind the sleeping caterpillars from their cocoons and utilize much of the thread and leave the caterpillars enough of the cocoon from which it safely emerge later.  Then , from there they probably breed them on so to speak.  Well, we will see tomorrow, and hopefully I will be allowed to take photos.  I’m glad the rain has stopped for a bit because I want to go out and practice my close-up shots a bit in preparation for tomorrow’s silkworn shots…
